How we treat each other here
Community guidelines
BONE is a safe space — and that only works if everyone plays along. These guidelines describe how we talk, flirt and date here. They're not legal small print; they're our shared understanding of what makes BONE a good place to be.
We deliberately distinguish between your profile — publicly visible to everyone, hence stricter — and what you write in chat — private, hence with more leeway. What you exchange in chat is end-to-end encrypted; we can't read it. Even so, limits apply there too.
On your profile
Strict — visible to everyone.
- No exclusionary language. Phrasings like "no fats, no fems, no asians" or comparable enumerations don't belong on your profile — no matter how politely worded. Who you're into is something for chat.
- Nothing illegal. Substances, services or content that aren't legal outside the app don't belong on a profile here either — not in disguise.
- No sex-work solicitations. Prices, rates, "generous only", references to paid OnlyFans content or comparable platforms.
- No depictions of violence, hate symbols or threats. No exceptions.
- No photos of others without their consent. Even if the person is your ex.
In chat
Less strict — private, confidential, your conversation.
- Consent is not negotiable. If the other person says "no" or doesn't respond — respect it. Repeated messages after a clear stop are harassment.
- HIV and PrEP status are private. No one has to disclose them. Those who do deserve a non-judgmental response. We act on stigmatising behaviour.
- No photos of third parties without their consent. Not even in private chat.
- No photos of minors. Ever. We report this to law enforcement.
- No doxxing threats. "I'll tell your employer or your family" is a criminal offence. We take this seriously.
Across your entire presence
- One person, one profile. Multiple accounts usually serve to evade blocks or bans.
- Minimum age 18. False information leads to account closure.
- Real photos. AI-generated or stolen profile pictures will be removed.
- Be yourself. Posing as someone else (catfishing) is fraud.
When someone breaks the rules
- Report it. On a profile → three dots → "Report". In chat → three dots → "Report". Both are anonymous; the reported user doesn't learn who reported them.
- We respond proportionally. From warnings to temporary suspensions to permanent account deletion. For severe violations (child sexual abuse material, doxxing, threats of violence) the response is immediate and without warning.
- Appeals are possible. If you believe a decision was wrong, write to info@bone-app.com.
If something happens to you
If you feel harassed, threatened or unsafe on BONE:
- Block takes effect immediately. The other user no longer sees you and can no longer contact you.
- In case of acute danger contact the police (110 in Germany, 133 in Austria, 117 in Switzerland). We cooperate with law-enforcement agencies on legitimate requests.
- For emotional first aid — TelefonSeelsorge 0800 111 0 111, free and anonymous, German-speaking.
A closing word
These guidelines are a living document. If you notice something missing here, or if you find a rule unfair — write to us. BONE grows with its community, not against it.
